At Focus on Design we conduct our business sustainably, ethically and with respect to human rights. We are fully committed to the prevention of all forms of slavery and human trafficking, both in our business and in our supply chains.
Focus on Design understands the importance of having a comprehensive understanding of our supply chains, actively encourages transparency in them, and scrutinises suppliers to seek to stamp out modern slavery. We are committed to continually improving our practices to combat slavery and human trafficking in compliance with The Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Focus on Design continues to update and review appropriate checks on all employees and recruitment agencies to know who is working for, or on behalf of us, to ensure there is no hidden labour exploitation.
Focus on Design is currently undergoing a substantive review of our supply chain. Suppliers of goods or services to Focus on Design are currently being requested to supply us with a copy of their anti-slavery policy/ statement. It is a requirement that suppliers assess their business and supply chains and confirm that they comply with their legal obligations, in relation to The Modern Slavery Act 2015. They are required to show their commitment to ensuring there is no slavery, forced labour or servitude, child labour or human trafficking taking place in their business, or any of their supply chains. If a supplier is found to have slavery or human-trafficking in their business, or knowingly in their supply chain, the Company will terminate the contract with them.
Our Modern Slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place any where in our supply chains. To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we have a training programme in place for our staff.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Focus on Design’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2016/2017. We review this statement every financial year.
